Greeting from Corvias Military Living’s Fort Sill team and happy New Year! We are all very excited about what is in store for 2016. Please be sure to follow us on Facebook and stay current on your monthly e-newsletter for information on progress that is occurring at Fort Sill and for all of the fun resident events we have planned for the upcoming year. We look forward to spending time and getting to know our families in future resident appreciation activities.
While we are thrilled to start a new year, we had many accomplishments throughout 2015. Our construction team delivered 71 of 78 new homes in Buffalo Soldier Acres for our Junior Enlisted families and construction is nearing the end for the delivery of the Buffalo Soldier Acres Community Center this month. The community center will be a 3,400 square-foot facility and will offer Wi-Fi connectivity, a fitness room, business center equipped with computers, Common Access Card (CAC) readers for Department of Defense (DoD) network access, and a printer/scanner/fax machine; an outdoor entertainment area and a splash pad in lieu of a pool for residents to utilize. Keep your eye out for an invitation to attend our Grand Opening this month.
New construction is not the only activity that occurred in 2015. Corvias completed a project to demolish 74 homes in Artillery Village and is nearing the completion of two renovation programs, bringing the total number of completed renovations to 810. Home renovation scopes include upgraded kitchens, new flooring or refinished hardwood floors, fresh paint, and new plumbing and light fixtures.
Additional projects completed in 2015 include heating ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) system upgrades in 810 homes. These upgrades include installation of new, high efficiency HVAC systems and attic insulation upgrades for better home energy efficiency. Work in Geronimo Acres was completed that is designed to improve insulation and thermal performance of plumbing walls. This will prevent freezing pipes that have occurred in past winters. Corvias is currently working on a similar insulation project for the Patriot Estates homes that have also experienced this issue.
These improvement projects have been identified and implemented in large part due to resident input. Continued resident engagement allows the housing partnership to identify needs and shape future plans, projects and programs.
As a result of resident feedback, new customer service based initiatives rolled out in 2015 to include automated voice communication services, online rental payment options, changes to resident follow-ups for work orders and the addition of the Fort Sill On-Post Housing Facebook page.
The automated voice communication service can deliver a recorded message directly to residents quicker than individual calls from Corvias staff and has already helped communicate critical information to residents during the heavy rains and flooding Fort Sill experienced in May. Corvias also launched their Facebook page as another platform and opportunity where the team and residents can engage and share information.
As always, thank you for your continued feedback throughout the year and responding to the surveys. We are excited to announce the progress we made in 2015; our move in survey score is 4.53 up from 4.42 last year and our work order survey score is 4.42, up from 4.27 last year. Also, in 2015 we completed 23,975 work orders and 934 new resident move-ins. We strive to provide our residents with exceptional customer service and a great quality life and we look forwarding to continually exceeding your expectations. The Corvias Military Living team would like to extend our sincerest wishes for a safe, healthy and prosperous New Year!
Last month, families living on-post received a housing survey from SatisFacts to determine resident satisfaction. The data collected from this survey helps Corvias improve your experience living on-post.
The SatisFacts survey is for all types of residential management companies. Corvias Military Living has earned a superior rating from SatisFacts the past eight years and has also achieved the highest score for companies with at least 10,000 homes seven times.
Congratulations to the Fort Sill SatisFacts survey winner! Georgianna Walkington was chosen at random to receive $500 for completing and returning the SatisFacts survey. We appreciate the valuable feedback! With your feedback, we will continue to provide the best homes, community, service and value to you. Thank you for allowing us to provide your family a home.
Spread the word! Deadlines for the Corvias Foundation $50,000 Scholarships and $5,000 Educational Grants for children and spouses of active-duty service members are coming up soon. Applications for high school seniors are due February 11 and applications for spouses are due May 5. Applications available online at corviasfoundation.org.
With freezing temperatures and possible winter weather in the forecast, it is important to ensure your family and home are prepared. Please ensure that all water houses are disconnected on the exterior of your home, set your heat between 60-65 degrees Fahrenheit if you are leaving for an extended amount of time and stay weather aware.
If freezing participation or snow shall occur, Corvias will work diligently to remove ice and snow from the main roads and crosswalks. Residents are responsible for removing snow off personal driveways, carports and sidewalks. Your Community Office has a limited supply of self-help items available to residents on a first come, first serve basis, such as salt and shovels for check out to assist with personal snow removal at your home. Shovels are checked out for a 4 hour time period and for shovels that are not returned within 24 hours, a $20 replacement fee will be charged to the resident. Please contact your Community Office of refer to the Resident Responsibility Guide if you have additional questions.
All decorations should be removed from the exterior of the homes within 15 days after the holiday. This provides everyone ample time to take down their decorations and store them. If you have any questions regarding the policy on decorations please refer to the Resident Responsibility Guide.
After the holidays, residents are often left with a lot of bulk trash and boxes. Please place all large boxes and Christmas trees in front of your home on Tuesday’s during your scheduled bulk trash collection. We ask that you please break down all boxes placed in front of your home to be picked up and that you remove all inorganic decorations from the trees including tinsel, lights and ornaments.
When placed curbside, the tree should be a few feet away from your regular household trash. Your discarded tree will be picked up by our bulk trash crews on Tuesday’s, from December 31 through January 7.
